Albayrak Taxi (A-Taxi), a sub company of Albayrak Holding in Turkey, added 40 new cars in its taxi fleet in Lahore, the second-largest metropolitan area in Pakistan.
Only after six months of launching the taxi service A-taxi got exceptional response from the passengers across the city that led the authority to expand the fleet.
“Owing to the exceptional response by the customers in just about seven months since the launch and the increasing demand of Albayrak taxi, the company is now expanding its operations with the inclusion of 40 brand new cars,” the company said in a written statement on Wednesday.
Albayrak Company launched a modern, state-of-the-art taxi system in Lahore on February 16, 2016. The service was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Mayor of Istanbul Kadir Topbaş, in a grand ceremony held in Lahore. The operations started with a fleet of 100 cabs.
The new modernized and easily-accessible cab service in Lahore by A-taxi had started a new era of public transportation in the city.
“Albayrak is accredited to be the pioneer of modern taxi system in Lahore and rightly so,” the company said.
Prior to Albayrak Taxi service, Lahore lacked a trusted modern taxi system based on international standards. The fleet of 140 vehicles is in yellow color with a taxi sign mounted on the top of the vehicle as per international standard.
Albayrak taxi service is available via a phone call through their UAN 111-961-961. Or one can simply hail a passing cab like any other public transport and taxi services of the world. On a phone call, Albayrak is offering a 15-minute waiting time (to reach the destination to pick up the passenger(s)) which is acceptable in the existing model and current traffic scenario of Lahore.
The cabs that are inducted in this project are brand new and air-conditioned, equipped with latest technology such as smartphone application for calling taxi, taxi meter installed inside for exact fare calculation, navigation and GPS devices to enable around the clock monitoring of the vehicles to ensure security of the passengers and a 24 hour call center and customer care department.
Furthermore, the drivers are uniformed and fully trained to ensure comfortable and safe travel for the passengers.
Albayrak is one of the widely-known Turkish companies in Pakistan, as the group has been operating the waste management system in Lahore and a 22-kilometer-long Lahore metro bus line.
The company has huge public acceptance through its existing mega projects, like Metro Bus services in Lahore and Rawalpindi-Islamabad and other municipality services in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Murree.
